Integrated services

Financial decisions share consequences, even when the industries serving them do not.

Four disciplines, delivered under their own agreements and licenses, coordinated by one advisor. Each section below explains when the engagement makes sense, what we evaluate, what it may include, and what to prepare.

01

Tax Preparation & Planning

Provided by Joe Murphy, Enrolled Agent (IRS)

When it makes sense

You have a return that has grown more complicated year over year, a life event that may change your tax picture, or a decision — a sale, a distribution, a business change — whose tax consequences matter before it happens.

What we evaluate

Filing status and residency, entity structure, income sources, cost basis and holding periods, estimated payments, retirement account activity, real-estate transactions, credits and elections, and the multi-year effect of the decisions in front of you.

What the engagement may include
  • Federal and state individual tax return preparation
  • Business and pass-through entity returns
  • Estimated tax planning and quarterly guidance
  • Tax-basis analysis on property and investments
  • Real-estate tax considerations, including sales and exchanges
  • Retirement distribution and Social Security timing considerations
  • IRS correspondence and representation as an Enrolled Agent
  • Gift and estate tax return preparation, where applicable
What to prepare

Prior-year returns, current-year income documents, closing statements for any property activity, retirement statements, and a short note on what has changed or may change this year.

02

Retirement & Financial Planning Considerations

Investment advisory and securities services, where applicable, are provided through separately affiliated firms under distinct engagements.

When it makes sense

You want the retirement, income, tax, and property pieces of your plan looked at together — not in three separate offices without coordination.

What we evaluate

Retirement account structure, expected income sequencing, tax exposure across accounts, cash-flow needs, property decisions that intersect with retirement timing, and long-range considerations that influence today's choices.

What the engagement may include
  • Retirement-income planning perspective across accounts
  • Tax-aware distribution and Roth conversion considerations
  • Coordination of property decisions with retirement timing
  • Cash-flow and budget review
  • Long-range perspective on estate and legacy questions
  • Referral or coordination with affiliated advisory services when investment implementation is appropriate
What to prepare

Recent retirement account statements, expected income sources, a rough monthly budget, and any pending property or business decisions.

03

Real Estate Services

Provided under California and, where applicable, Arizona real estate brokerage licensure

When it makes sense

You are considering a sale, purchase, or property change and want the tax, cash-flow, and financing effects considered alongside the transaction — not after it closes.

What we evaluate

Motivation and timing, comparable market activity, basis and tax exposure, holding-period considerations, financing scenarios, and how the property decision changes the broader financial picture.

What the engagement may include
  • Buyer and seller representation in the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Property evaluation and market perspective
  • Coordination with mortgage financing scenarios
  • Coordination with tax basis and holding-period analysis
  • Transaction management through closing and beyond
  • Scottsdale, AZ representation through Financial Concepts of Scottsdale, LLC
What to prepare

A short description of the property and situation, any timing pressures, and the outcome you would consider a good one.

04

Mortgage Brokerage

Provided under NMLS-registered mortgage brokerage licensure. Loan approval is not guaranteed and terms are subject to lender underwriting.

When it makes sense

You are financing a purchase or refinancing an existing loan and want the loan structure looked at as a financial decision — not just an application.

What we evaluate

Loan structure alternatives, rate versus term trade-offs, cash-flow effect, tax implications of interest deductibility, and the interaction with retirement and long-range plans.

What the engagement may include
  • Purchase, refinance, and cash-out refinance scenarios
  • Comparison across multiple lender programs
  • Application intake and coordination through funding
  • Coordination with tax and property strategy
What to prepare

A recent income summary, any current mortgage statement, and a note on what you're trying to accomplish with the financing.

Important disclosures

No guarantee is made of investment performance, tax savings, loan approval, property appreciation, refund amount, or any specific outcome. Real estate and mortgage services are provided under applicable state licensure; investment advisory and securities services, where offered, are provided through separately affiliated firms under distinct engagements.

Nothing on this page constitutes personalized tax, legal, or investment advice. Every engagement is governed by its own written agreement.

Bring the decision. We'll clarify the scope.
